Did you know that improperly installed dryer venting or the wrong type of dryer venting could shorten the lifespan of your dryer and may be a Potential Fire Hazard.
Before you begin make sure that the power cord is unplugged from the electrical outlet before performing any maintenance or repairs and it may may be necessary to shut off the gas supply as well.
We recommend 4" rigid aluminum venting only. (rigid galvanized or flexible aluminum can be used but we do not recommend it to our customers)
Never use flexible plastic, PVC or flexible foil venting on your dryer.
Never exceed the recommended length that the dryer manufacturer recommends for your dryer.
Use your elbows wisely each rigid aluminum elbow equals approximately 10 foot of rigid aluminum straight pipe.
Clean and inspect dryer venting at least twice a year over time dryer lint will cling to the interior walls of your venting and will restrict the proper airflow that your dryer needs. We see this much more often with galvanized and flexible aluminum venting and is one of the reason we do not recommend it over rigid aluminum venting.Rigid aluminum has the ability to dissipate moisture much better and helps it stay clean and work more effectively.
Our friendly little critters outside We notice about twice a year our little friends that live outside seem to be looking for a nice cozy place to live or a place to explore. Birds, squirrels, ground squirrels, possums etc. will consider your dryer venting.
Never use screen to cover your venting this will catch lint and clog airflow. Use a good flapper type or louvered type vent hood that will close properly when the dryer is not in use.
